After nearly two years of testimony, debate and compromise, the Senate passed Senate Bills 437 and 438, measures that sustain fair electric choice and ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for Michigan’s families and businesses.
Now, these bills are on their way to the Michigan House for consideration and the fight to get it done will be even tougher.
The legislation is exactly what Michigan needs to secure a strong energy future and is supported by dozens of major companies, organizations and nonprofits, including: Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Association of Michigan, Ford Motor Company, International Brotherhood of Electric Workers, Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council and The Heat and Warmth Fund.
Now, the House has a small window of opportunity between now and the end of the year to pass this legislation and secure Michigan’s energy future. In fact, there are only nine days of legislative session before the end of the year, so we need to act fast – and that’s where you come in.
